FFile #: MV14052
Type: Self-propelled Sectional Barge/Ferry
Price:
Condition of sale: As-is-where-is
Size: 140' x 52' x 5' with all sections
Built: 2004 at Port Weller DD, Ontario
Flag: Canadian
Sections: There are 19 sections in total (includes 4 x 20'; 2 x 52'; 13 x 40').
Located: Eastern Canada, Quebec
Flag: Canadian
Availability: disassembled, and timing to be mutually agreed, but within the next 90 days.
Other: Was built using ABS guidelines
Fuel Capacity: 50,000 ltrs
Speed: Top 11 knots running 9 knots
Capacity: can carry up to 50 North American pick-up trucks, so I would say that about 60 to 70 smaller cars
Power: There are three CAT powered Thrustmaster units (2 main units and 1 spare), all of which were reportedly built in 1998. The two main units are CAT 3408 DITA (465 BHP each), each powering a Thrustmaster Model # OD400N. The spare has the same horsepower, but it is a smaller unit. All are reportedly in nearly new condition, with very low hours at the time of their acquisition in 2004 (Two main units had 1,300 hrs and 1,400 hrs respectively, and the spare has only 655 hrs. on assembly in 2004).

Ramps: Hydraulic ramps fore & aft (25'L x 16' W). With the cantilevers connected for the Thrustmaster drive systems on the sides, this increases the overall width of the unit to 64'.

Sections: There are 19 sections in total (includes 4 x 20'; 2 x 52'; 13 x 40'). The barge (presently as assembled) has rakes fore and aft, and is also fitted with two (2) spud wells, and spuds. The bridge station is amidships for navigation control. This unit is presently working in Northern Quebec as a truck ferry on land-locked lake.

Remarks: The barge has been working on an inland lake since sections and machinery assembled together in 2004, and is in very good overall condition.
